Although CHKD is a great option for medical care of parents/guardians to ill children, children with preexisting medical issues need constant medical care and possible medical resources at home.

FAMIS is only available to residents of Virginia, and covers all medical care including check-ups and sick visits. There are no enrollment fees, or monthly premiums for FAMIS. Additionally, there are NO co-pays for covered services (FAMIS, 2023.)
