Discussion:
■There is a comparable average length of stay (LOS) between pre-and-post-Covid-19 cohorts. However, there are 4x the number of children that were admitted to the hospital for longer than 8 days post-pandemic. P values for LOS and placement of admission were calculated and interpreted as not being statistically significant, and the null hypothesis was rejected.
■Data points towards the use of respiratory support devices post-pandemic as compared to pre-pandemic.
■The majority of the subjects were identified as white/Caucasian (over 50%) for both pre-and-post-pandemic.
■There was a noticeable increase in parents/guardians that did not possess health insurance post-pandemic, and were registered for a hospital presumptive eligibility for Medicare.
